Ergonomics- such a fancy word that many people completely ignore it when it comes to purchasing a helmet! But from our personal experience helmet ergonomics is one of the most important things that will keep you comfortable even on long distance rides, and for several years to come. With that in mind, here are some of the most important features when it comes to choosing a helmet with the right ergonomics, and some other safety matters which are equally important. So, let's get started.
High impact protection The most important thing when it comes to purchasing Motorcycle riding helmets is to buy a product which comes with high impact protection assurance. you can get that only from branded motorcycle helmets, manufactured by the most reputed helmet companies in India. These products use ABS material for designing the outer shell, and EPS (expanded polystyrene), to make the inner shell which makes it comfortable as well as efficient in absorbing shock and mechanical impact in the event of an accident. Always make sure to purchase a helmet with these minimum safety features. But, in addition to these, you also need to check whether the helmet has a scratch resistant visor, quick release strap mechanism and certified chin bar section. Comfort The most obvious aspect, but second in our list of important things while purchasing a helmet is the comfort of the product. If the helmet is not comfortable, there is a very good sense that you won’t wear the helmet, and find excuses to leave it back at home. Unless the helmet is on your head, there is no point in investing in it. Modern motorcycle riding helmets come with a ton of comfort features such as hypoallergenic inner lining and padding which prevents the risk of skin infection because it does not react with sweat or dust. Also, the inner lining is made with soft foam which keeps your face comfortable without being too soft so that the helmet can fit snugly on the head. Wind and dust protection When you're riding a motorcycle, or any two-wheeler, you don't want the wind to be flirting with the eyelashes. First, it is very distracting, and second the wind can bring dust and debris along with it and hit your eyes, which can not only cause an injury but also lead you to lose balance of the motorcycle and crash it. Always opt for a helmet that comes with a good quality visor, in our experience a clear visor is better than a colored visor for all kinds of riding conditions. Also, look for proper padding on the neck area because the wind can come through the gap between the helmet and your neck as well. Dynamic Air Ventilation Good ventilation in the helmet is another necessary aspect that you need to check before purchasing the helmet. This is important specially if you are riding in hot summer conditions, or if you reside in a tropical country such as India, Malaysia or the Philippines where most of the time the weather condition is hot, which means you need a helmet with a proper air ventilation system to keep you cool while you're riding the motorcycle. Allergy and Odor Prevention Another important aspect is allergy and order prevention. Modern branded helmets come with hypoallergenic inner liner which does not react with sweat or dust, thereby reducing the risk of skin allergies. We recommend that you purchase a safest good quality premium two-wheeler helmet with replaceable inner lining and padding so that you can install a new replacement after every 2 to 3 years of regular use. Modularity/Upgradability Following from our previous point of replaceable inner parts, always make sure to choose a helmet with modular parts so that you can replace any part if it happens to become damaged during the regular course of use.
