Have you been postponing your travel plans for too many months now? The pandemic is not over yet, but with people getting antsy and with vaccination becoming gradually available for the masses around the world, the world is slowly getting back to normalcy and the topic of traveling has once again become relevant. Here are some things that you need to know about travelling in the post-pandemic world.
Traveling solo makes more sense Traveling with a partner definitely has its own pros and cons, and now with the pandemic behind us, riding solo is suddenly making more sense to everybody. There are social distancing norms to worry about and being in a plane or a bus is getting more expense with operators trying to recoup their losses due to reduced patronage and the lean business in the months before. Therefore, traveling by your own motorcycle or car is not only cheaper, it is also better for keeping overall expenses low. If you don’t want any compromises with comfort or safety, go by car, but go alone or at most with one or two co-occupants. Being on a motorcycle automatically eliminates the scope of carrying more than one pillion rider but even that can be too much if you want to strictly abide by the social distancing norms. Being frugal is important Frugality and economically sensible decisions don’t make you thrifty anymore, it makes you smart. With the losses in economy and personal finances during the pandemic, it has become more important than ever before to save money on everything. So be it the fuel expenses, or accommodation costs look for opportunities to cut down superfluous expenses. The only exception to that rule is your personal safety while riding the motorcycle. Invest in the best quality cheap branded motorcycle helmets with the best-in-class safety and comfort features, and don’t cut corners. You can never plan too early! With businesses dealing with a severe shortage in manpower and finances, there are fewer facilities available these days. So, give yourself the upper-hand by planning everything at least a month in advance and keep back-up plans ready so that even if your primary arrangement fails to deliver you still have a secondary plan in place for everything. Check for the change in health and safety prerequisites that have been put in place to reduce the risk of contamination and spread of the pandemic. Also keep mandatory quarantine regulations put in place by governments across the world. Calculate the overall time implications keeping all time frames in mind. Always have an exit plan Now with rules and regulations changing frequently, and often without prior intimations, the importance of having a good exit plan becomes more pressing than ever before. This is particularly important if you are travelling alone. Keep someone you trust back home updated of your whereabouts and have a general idea of how to get out of a city/state/country before entering it! Keep an additional emergency cash supply handy. Nothing solves problems like cold hard cash. Having money in hand can get you out of trouble fast.
